In for a treat ? I have a Christmas cookies recipe for you !  

 

You will need:

– 140g of sugar

– 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

– 1 egg people

– 250g butter

– 375g of flour

 

STEP 1

Tip the sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk and butter into a mixing bowl, then stir together with a wooden spoon. Add the flour and mix to a firm dough. Shape the dough into two flat discs and wrap them. Chill for 20-30 mins. Heat oven to 190C and line two baking sheets.

 

STEP 2

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about the 5-6 mm thickness. Cut out Christmassy shapes (use a cutter if you like) and place on the baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 mins until lightly golden.

 

STEP 3

Decorate to your liking (see icing instructions ). You can even hang them on the Christmas tree!
